Karekare Beach Auckland


  1. It’s Auckland’s most spectacular beaches and there is wilderness areas.
  2. Swimming people are only to swim between the flags.
  3. In 1993 heaps of people talked about the beautiful black sand.
  4. Karekare has some of New Zealand’s finest painters.

    Hi Benjamin,

    Karekare beach is my all-time favourite beach in New Zealand so I am very excited to see you writing about it! It is a black sand beach that is nestled at the foot of some amazing mountains. I have often been there on a cloudy day when the whole beach is shrouded in mist and it has this mystical and mysterious vibe.

    I hope that you are able to get there one day! As per your last post, I am also hoping that you could please send me the link for the site where you got your information about Karekare. I am really intrigued by Fact #3. Do you know why it is that people talked about the sand back in 1993? Did something special happen that year?
