Earth’s Natural Resources
Walt: use paragraphs in our writing to organise our ideas.
Wal: how and why water, air and soil are necessary for life on Earth.

Task One: Padlet

Open up the padlet and share your ideas about 2-3 of Earth’s resources.

Use ideas from:
  • Your own knowledge.
  • Texts from this week (Reading).
  • Youtube videos.
  • Class discussions.

Task Two: You are going to write about Earth’s Resources. Through your writing, you will need to discuss 2-3 of Earth’s natural resources. Use the ideas on padlet to help you.

Title:
Introduction:
  • Hook your reader in.
  • Introduce the topic.
  • Explain what you will be writing about (Earth’s natural resources) - list these in a sentence.
Planet Earth is where we live.  It is an amazing planet with many natural resources, like air, water and soil.  Some resources are renewable and some are not.  Let me tell you about them.
Paragraph One: Resource 1

  • How is this resource created?
  • How does this resource support life?
Resource Helps People to Survive. With Air, Water, Plants, Trees, Food. Air Can help us to have Oxygen and Water helps us to drink and Plants they help us to have food.
Paragraph Two: Resource 2
  • Topic Sentence:
  • Where is this resource found?
  • How is this resource Created?
    How does this resource support life?
Resource is found by Seed on the ground. Seeds can help us to make Plants, Trees. Seeds are good to make food from plants.
Paragraph Three (Optional): Resource 3
  • Topic Sentence:
  • Where is this resource found?
  • How is this resource Created?
    How does this resource support life?
Resource Is made By God. He Makes stuff for us to Survive. Like Food Seeds And Trees & Water.
Conclusion:
  • Restate the natural resources you have talked about.
  • What would happen if we didn’t have these resources?
  • How can we look after these resources? (Your opinion).
If we didn’t have these resources then we would be Dead. We Can Look After the plants trees and water then we would not die.

Sefulu/Hongofulu Problem Solving Task


Your maths group are given this chocolate bar to share. Show:
1/2 of the block of chocolate is eaten. Show how much is now left.

1/4 of the full block is now left. Show 1/4 of the block.
What would 1/2 of 1/4 of the block look like?
Miss West and Mrs Buchanan have run out of coloured paper to make cards. This 1 piece of A4 paper is all that is left and three thank you cards need to be made. Shade 1/3 of this pink paper in green. Shade (red) half of what is left (still pink).
If each little square on the paper is 1cm tall, how many centimetres of pink paper are now left?
